The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) is one of the strongest tools our country has to combat hunger and poverty. SNAP increases food security for 88,692 Granite State adults and children and we want to make sure they are not at risk of losing this necessary resource.
We call on Governor Sununu and our federal delegation to speak out in support of the Senate version of the FARM bill that protects our families and does not impose more restrictions on those trying to access food to remain healthy and strong. Any cuts to SNAP or barriers to accessing SNAP would harm children, unemployed Granite Staters, individuals in recovery, the elderly, and low-income working families. That is not the New Hampshire way.
