New Hampshire’s minimum wage has not kept up with the cost of living for more than 30 years, and is currently stalled at $7.25 an hour – or the equivalent of only $1,276 a month for a full-time worker. It’s time for New Hampshire to address the plight of 75,000 Granite State workers and raise the minimum wage.

Raising the minimum wage would help lift thousands of Granite State workers out of poverty, stimulate the economy, and help families across the state.

That’s why I am calling on New Hampshire state legislators to raise the minimum wage this year. Will you help me?

Background Information

New Hampshire’s minimum wage has not kept up with the cost of living for more than 30 years, and is currently stalled at $7.25 an hour – or the equivalent of only $1,276 a month for a full-time worker. It’s time for New Hampshire to address the plight of 75,000 Granite State workers and raise the minimum wage.

This isn’t a partisan issue. Recent polling finds that three-quarters of Americans – including majorities of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats – support increasing the minimum wage. Raising the minimum wage would help lift thousands of Granite State workers out of poverty, stimulate the economy, and help families across the state. That’s why Granite State Progress and a broad coalition of workers, organizational allies, faith leaders, and small businesses are calling on state legislators to raise the minimum wage to $8.25 in 2015 and $9 in 2016 – and to index it to the cost of living going forward.
