Emergency Field Hearing on U.S. Senate Version of Trumpcare

Today, Senate Republican leaders released their version of the American Health Care Act (AHCA). Without a single hearing or the typical committee process, they plan to hold a vote on this bill on the Senate floor next week.

U.S. Senators Shaheen and Hassan are hosting an Emergency Field Hearing on Healthcare Repeal in Concord tomorrow. This is an opportunity to speak out about what’s at stake if healthcare is repealed and share your story.

Emergency U.S. Senate Field Hearing on Health Care Repeal
Friday, June 23rd from 2:00PM to 4:00PM
UNH School of Law, 2 White Street, Concord

Please use the Warren B. Rudman entrance located on Washington Street. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

President Trump predicted the Senate bill would be “phenomenal” and less “mean” than that of the House, but when the Senate Republicans unveiled their secret version of Trumpcare, it confirmed what we already knew—it will strip millions of their health care coverage all to fund tax cuts for the rich. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is going to try to jam it through the Senate by next Thursday, so we need all hands on deck to speak out about how disastrous this bill will be for Granite State families.

RSVP below to join United States Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan for an emergency field hearing on healthcare repeal. If you cannot make it in person, still submit your health care story and Granite State Progress will deliver it.

If you are willing to share your health care story, here is a template from Granite State Progress & Education Fund for how to draft your remarks. Please share your health care story and/or how the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) helped you, your family, or your friends, or why the American Health Care Act (AHCA, Trumpcare) would be detrimental. (A good review of the Senate version can be found here.) If you need any help drafting your statement, do not hesitate to email a few starter paragraphs to zandra@granitestateprogress.org along with your contact information. We will follow up as soon as possible and can even print copies for you for the field hearing.
